David is a Director of Longitude with responsibility for Oil and Gas services across the Europe and Africa region. He is also responsible for managing Longitude’s London office, having previously been the Managing Director of both the Singapore and Southampton offices.
He is a chartered Naval Architect and Member of RINA with more than twenty years’ experience in consultancy and marine design. David is particularly experience with the design and analysis of floating offshore structures including permanent production assets such as FPSO’s and FSO’s, drilling units including Jack-Ups and Semi-Submersibles and support vessels such as OSV’s, Tugs and barges.
David’s experience includes the management of a number of major projects, including the design engineering for the conversion of a number of tankers into FPSO as well as management of transportation design projects for multiple shipments of modularised cargos. As well as design engineering projects, David is often involved in concept, Pre-FEED and FEED studies for a wide range of applications, including vessel conversion and upgrade (FPSO and MOPU), offshore installation engineering and
offshore decommissioning.
David has a thorough understanding of structural design and analysis, but is particularly experienced in hydrodynamic analysis of floating units, including the calculation of vessel motions and accelerations, mooring analysis, green water and slamming analysis and dynamic lift analysis.
