Jake Anderson has been promoted to the position of CEO of Longitude – the design and engineering arm of ABL Group. This change in title from his former role as Managing Director, follows Jake’s nearly 20 years at the helm of Longitude and coincides with the company’s significant international growth and service diversification.
Jake will continue to report to the ABL Group ASA CEO, Reuben Segal, who comments:
“I am delighted to congratulate Jake on his new title as CEO. Whilst on a day-to-day basis, Jake’s role will not change – this title is a testament to Longitude’s evolution under Jake’s dedicated leadership and vision over many years. It is also a reflection of the significant expansion of Longitude’s capability both in the Americas and from a technical standpoint.”
About Longitude
Longitude was established in 2006 as an independent and specialist consultancy in design, engineering and analysis for the marine, offshore renewable energy and oil & gas markets.
The first office was in Singapore and since then and with the recent addition of Proper Marine, the team has grown to 200 staff based in 12 countries.
Longitude’s success is attributed to the focus and independence that the brand brings, along with the support and collaboration with our colleagues from across the ABL Group. Longitude’s position within ABL Group enables the company to support clients across the Group’s wider geographical footprint.
Until the acquisition of Proper Marine, Longitude’s growth has been predominantly organic, based on the mantra that we exist to solve your engineering problems for your project success. Longitude was joined in 2021 by the design house OSD-IMT which reinforced its in-house expertise and track-record in vessel design and brought a portfolio of more than 100 vessels constructed to our designs.
Growth in the Americas
The engineering team from ABL in the Americas joined Longitude in 2023 and has been steadily growing since then. This growth is now undergoing a step change with ABL Group’s recent acquisition of Brazil-based naval architecture and offshore engineering house, Proper Marine. This expands Longitude’s global footprint to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, as well as widening its capacity to support projects across the Americas.
The acquisition also significantly grows both Longitude and ABL Group’s technical capability and track-record in FPSOs.
Longitude today and tomorrow
Looking ahead, Longitude’s services are focussed along four key business lines:
- Marine and vessel design and engineering
- Offshore energy design and engineering
- Renewable energy design and engineering
- Marine operations design and engineering
Each of these business lines has a dedicated strategy and execution plan which will underpin Longitude’s growth for the coming years.
Jake Anderson, CEO of Longitude, comments:
“I am really proud of the incredible journey Longitude has taken since 2006, and of where we are today. We have grown from our roots in marine operations and naval architecture and are evolving into a multi-disciplinary design house capable to delivering a wide range of projects across energy and oceans, as well as supporting our clients in transitioning to net-zero.”
Longitude is part the global consultancy ABL Group – delivering energy, marine, engineering and software solutions to drive safety and sustainability in renewables, maritime and oil & gas sectors.
