Longitude – part of the consultancy ABL Group – recently held a global leadership meeting at the Group’s operational headquarters in London, UK, to refocus the company’s strategy and business lines, to formally welcome the company’s new Brazil branch, Proper Marine and to kick-off a new business line, the design of wind turbine foundations team.

The meeting brought together Longitude’s regional directors, business line directors and the management team from Proper Marine, to discuss, challenge and align on the actions required to deliver the strategy.

Design and Engineering for your Project Success

With its roots in marine operations and naval architecture since 2006, Longitude has evolved into a multi-disciplinary design house capable to delivering a wide range of projects across energy and oceans, with a focus in four key areas:

  1. Offshore Wind design and engineering
  2. Facilities & Subsea design and engineering
  3. Ship design and engineering
  4. Marine Operations Design and engineering

This service portfolio ensures an offering true to the origins of Longitude, as well as the companies which have joined it – OSD-IMT in 2021, and now Proper Marine – whilst supporting today’s clients in meeting the challenges they face across renewables, maritime, oil & gas and infrastructure markets.

Taking Brazilian Engineering to the world

The gathering was the first between Longitude’s global management with Proper Marine’s management team.

Acquired by ABL Group in December 2024, Proper Marine provides expert naval architecture and offshore engineering services to marine and offshore energy industries in Brazil.

Its services are highly complementary to those within Longitude, and together, this synergy extends the company’s footprint in Brazil,  significantly expanding design and engineering capacity to deliver large projects across the region.

Building on Strong Foundations for Offshore Wind

The meeting included the kick-off of Longitude’s expanded service into expert offshore wind design and engineering, under the direction of industry experts Jan-Erik Berg and Michael Sienko.

Longitude has a long track-record of design and engineering in offshore wind projects around the world delivered with its multidisciplined team.

On these foundations Berg and Sienko are building a highly specialist capability to deliver concept design, FEED and detailed design services for offshore wind foundations, offshore support structures (OSS) and cable systems.

“Approaching our 20th year, it’s great to see Longitude’s evolution from marine operations engineer to the international design and engineering house that we re in energy and oceans today. Our continued expansion has been a natural progression from where we started, and I’m pleased to say that our ethos and commitment remain as they were on day 1 – our design and engineering support. Your project success.”
