Longitude were contracted by Bechtel to provide engineering services for transportation of LNG modules for APLNG, QCLNG and GLNG Projects.
Facts and Figures:
- 200+ Modules transported in 72 shipments
- Module’s weight ranging from 100tons to 3,500 tons
- From Indonesia (Batam), Philippines, Thailand to Australia.
- Using a variety of transportation vessels, from flat top barges, self-propelled barges to heavy-lift vessels.
Longitude’s Scope of Work
For the multiple voyages, Longitude developed the Vessel Selection and Risk Evaluation for the Client. On the Naval architecture scope of work, Longitude produced for each voyage the motion analysis using MOSES software, the stability analysis using GHS software, the quayside mooring analysis for loading/offloading using OPTIMOOR software, the routing study, the bollard-pull calculations for non-self-propelled barges and the wind and wave data for tow route.
On the Structural Engineering scope of work, Longitude produced the Module and Barge Interaction Analysis using FEMAP software, the grillage and sea-fastening design using FEMAP and Staad.Pro software, the modules’ motions and deflections and the preparation of module stowage arrangement drawings.
Longitude also liaised with Marine Warranty Surveyor to reply and resolve comments, in order to ensure technical requirements of the scope are met and timely submission of documents to meet project schedule.
