NEOM Green Hydrogen Project
Longitude provided a wide-range of facilities and subsea engineering services, including:
- FEED Design Review
- Risk Review
- Tender and EPC Support
- Multidisciplinary Engineering Expertise
- Interface Engineering
About the project
Longitude was awarded a contract to support Air Products for the NEOM Project which aims to build a facility in the NEOM region of Saudi Arabia to produce green hydrogen using onshore wind and solar power and to export it to the global market as Ammonia.
The plant will supply 650 tonnes per day of carbon-free hydrogen for transportation globally and will save three million tons per year of CO2.

Our scope of work
Longitude provided a range of facilities and subsea engineering services, to deliver on the following scope of work:
- Engineering review of FEED design
- Pre-EPC risk review to establish safety, cost and schedule risks pre-detailed design
- EPC tendering support
- EPC tender review
- Support during detailed design and construction
The results
Longitude’s scope of work was to provide engineering support to the client teams with a specific focus on the export jetty and the interface between the visiting tankers and the jetty to ensure that the design meets the project’s needs.
Our scope started with a review of the FEED design and a risk review of the key parts of the design to ensure that the proposed arrangements are workable whilst also minimising cost, schedule and safety risks.
Following which Longitude supported the client through the tendering and the EPC process.
Our multidisciplined team of engineers included metocean and geotechnical specialists, civil, electrical and structural engineers as well as master mariners and marine engineers.
This team bought specialisms to the client to support the decision making process for a cryogenic product in an environmentally sensitive area.
Air Products will be the exclusive off-taker of the green ammonia and intends to transport it around the world to be dissociated to produce green hydrogen for the transportation market.
