The OSD-IMT2006 Fishery Research Vessel is designed for fishery research which requires a low transmitted noise signature. The large, slow turning single propeller is driven by low speed electric motors in tandem. All main internal main machinery and pipework is resiliently mounted. The vessel is equipped with stern and side “A” frames with winches for deploying side scan sonar, a magnetometer and piston corer. Trawl, and Gilson winches are fitted to handle the sampling nets and trawl boards.
