WEAP Nigeria Ltd.: FPSO Audit | Case Study | Longitude
Front Puffin / Tamara Nanaye FPSO Audit
Acacia Energy (Acacia) contacted Longitude to request support in its assignment on behalf of WAEP Nigeria Ltd. We were tasked to conduct an audit on the life extension work scopes, proposed to be carried out on the FPSO Tamara Nanaye (ex Front Puffin).
The Floating Production Storage and Offloading Unit (FPSO) had been undergoing refurbishment at the Samsung-Ladol yard in Port of Lagos, Nigeria. The FPSO was removed from the yard with the proposed works only completed to a minor extent, if at all.
The purpose of the audit was to provide Acacia with an understanding of the current condition of the FPSO and the time and investment levels required in order to achieve the actual and proposed life extension spend, as agreed with the current owners via the refurbishment.
The audit also provided an estimate of the work required to achieve the initial agreed-upon goals should there be a gap to completion.
Scope of work
Longitude collaborated with its sister company, the energy and marine consultants, ABL, in Nigeria, to provide the following deliverables:
- Yard and vessel survey, completed by the ABL Nigeria team
- Desktop review of the proposed modifications
- Updated cost and schedule for the modifications to be completed
Results
The following results were achieved:
- An understanding of the remaining CAPEX required to complete the modifications
- Realistic timeline identified for redeployment
- Insight into the additional remedial work required to ensure the vessel was fit for purpose
