What is your day-to-day like at Longitude?

My day-to-day at Longitude is very dynamic and multifaceted. I’m directly involved in contract and people management, prospecting new projects, and developing tools and resources to strengthen the management of the On-Site Department. Of course, I also provide technical support and execute scopes related to offshore activities. It’s a constant balance between strategy, leadership, and hands-on engineering.

What inspired you to pursue this career?

I’ve always been fascinated by the sea. When I began my academic journey, I fell in love with naval and petroleum engineering, and the more I studied, the more eager for knowledge I became. I’ve also always wanted to pursue a profession with real relevance to Brazil. I saw the oil and gas sector as a concrete opportunity to contribute to the country’s development and make a difference in a technical, strategic, and responsible way.

Can you share something exciting you’re currently working on?

I’m currently involved in projects focused on the structural and naval integrity of FPSOs, meeting Class and Navy requirements. Within this scope, we’re responsible for developing inspection and repair plans for tanks, as well as maintenance and decommissioning activities.

Without a doubt, decommissioning is the most exciting front: it involves everything from planning and installing towing systems, cleaning tanks and process vessels, riser pull-outs, winch reconditioning, to the removal of seawater intake hoses and mooring lines. It’s complex, challenging work and extremely rewarding from both a technical and operational perspective.

Looking to the future, what do you consider essential to drive sustainability in your sector?

I believe sustainability in our sector necessarily involves greater integration between departments, creating a more versatile structure and engineers who are increasingly prepared to meet the company’s diverse demands. I also see international project sharing as fundamental, enabling the On-Site team to operate not only in Brazil but also in global opportunities, expanding expertise, efficiency, and positive impact.

Beyond work, what do you enjoy most about being part of ABL Group?

Without a doubt, the feeling of being part of a big family. People here are always willing to help, support one another, and grow together. That makes me very proud and motivates me to learn every day from each professional in the company. And of course, I can’t forget to mention our pagode group—always a great excuse to get together, have a good laugh, and further strengthen bonds outside the workplace.
