Hieu Le won the Young Gastech Essay Competition. As the winner Hieu will be presenting on the main stage at the Gastech2017 conference.
Hieu joined the LOC/Longitude Engineer Development Scheme in 2013 after graduating from the University of Southampton (UK) with a First Class Honours degree in Naval Architecture.
Hieu started his training in Singapore, where he was involved in various cases of marine casualty investigation, which included supporting a senior colleague with rescuing a stranded containership, and 3D reconstruction of marine accidents. In Australia, he was involved in marine warranty survey services where he gained experience in trailed and lifted loadout/discharge and barge transportation for the Wheatstone and Gorgon projects. Hieu’s current work is centred on ship’s stability, grounding analysis, mooring and structural design, and other advanced engineering analysis with Longitude.
The essay topic was:“In a world increasingly dominated by the future need for clean energy and reduced carbon footprint, what role should Natural Gas/LNG play and for how long?”
